“Artists in the Woods: Innovative Economic Development through E-Commerce.” The purpose of this program is to provide a long-term integrated economic development approach that uses technology to create an infrastructure that will help rural citizens increase and sustain their incomes in a way that is compatible with the rural lifestyle.
This project mirrors the success FOC has achieved in creating “Jobs in the Woods” to those who do not or cannot do physical work in the woods or production line work at the small business incubator. It provides artisans access to a buying marketplace through e-commerce that reaches around the world.
It gives remote bound artisans, an opportunity to develop a skill, craft or art venue that can be sold through e-commerce to bring financial support.
